I received my B.S. and M.S. in Biology from Universidad del Valle, Colombia. After finishing my studies, I moved to New York to join the Gene Discovery Lab in Mount Sinai, where I participated in multiple projects including gene mapping, large scale SNP analysis and genotyping for Mendelian and Non-Mendelian disorders, including Setleis syndrome and Chron’s disease. Then I completed a MS in Genetic Counseling at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Prior to join the Chakravarti’s Lab, as a Senior Research Coordinator/Genetic Counselor, I worked in Research and Clinical Genetics (prenatal, cancer and pediatric genetic counseling). My responsibilities include recruitment and obtain consent for Hirschsprung disease and other studies, as well as coordinate the biorepository for genetic disease research studies.
